Mental Health in the Workplace
Every organisation in Britain is effected by mental distress and ill health in the workforce. In addition to the distressing personal impact of mental health difficulties, the total cost to employers of mental health problems among their staff is estimated at nearly £26 billion each year.

The seminar and workshops regarding mental health in the workplace are designed to raise awareness of the issue and to alleviate some of the myths and concerns surrounding mental health in the workplace. The full day workshops will also contain exercises that will promote positive managerial practices and the formation of company policy in this area.

Dignity at Work/Workplace Bullying and Harassment
One of the difficulties in approaching the problem of workplace bullying, is that it may be hard to recognise and its affects may be attributed to something else. Despite these difficulties the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and its stakeholders have agreed a zero tolerance approach taken to bullying at work.

The seminar and workshops regarding dignity at work (or workplace bullying and harassment) are designed to raise awareness of the issue and help employees understand the nature and impact of such behaviours. The one day workshop will also contain exercises that will promote positive practices and the formation of company policy in this area.

Work-Related Stress
Some people feel that stress is an everyday part of life. Indeed a certain amount of pressure can be an effective motivator, but too much stress is not good for us as individuals or as part of an organisation. Research indicates that apart from the costs to the individual, work-related stress accounts for over a third of all new incidences of ill health and is responsible for a total of 13.8 million lost working days each year in Britain.

The seminar and workshops regarding work related stress are designed to raise awareness and help employees understand and cope with stress.

Assertiveness Training
Asertiveness does not come naturally to people as individuals have learned passive behaviours to stave off confrontational situations or aggressive behaviour in order to achieve goals. These behaviours can be unlearned and assertive behaviour used to produce results that benefits all parties.

Conflict at work can have catastrophic personal affects and seriously reduce organisational effectiveness. The aim of assertion is to solve problems and achieve the best results through a win-win situation.

This one day training workshop is open to staff at all levels is a practical assertiveness training day is designed to leave participants feeling more confident in their ability to handle others and feeling better about themselves.

Introduction to Anger Management
Recent research indicates that eight out of ten people suffer from 'work rage' and as many as seven in ten employees report that verbal abuse and shouting is common in their place of work. Inappropriate expressions of anger in the workplace can have many negative consequences for both the individual and for organisations as a whole.

This one day training workshop which is open to staff at all levels is designed to help individuals understand the nature of anger. Using cognitive behavioural approaches, participants will develop a number of strategies to manage anger both in the workplace and in their personal lives.

Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
This seminar provides an overview of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) including the structure of a CBT session, characteristics required for effective treatment and methods used within therapy. Whilst this seminar would be interesting to most company types, it may be of particular interest to GP surgeries and provides an interesting CPD event.

All seminars and workshops can be delivered in house or externally.
